having had my 1-2-1 with my boss yesterday on my performance in managing an acute surgical ward, she informs me that she expects me to commence a course in critical care at degree level commencing september.
the reason being our surgical ward is being converted into a high dependancy unit (like an itu) and she wants me to manage it and gain the necessary skills.
i already have a diploma in higher ed.
You can do it Scooby. There is a bit of a difference between the first 240 and the last 120 points. Years of experience. You pick up alot that you don't think you do. You will breeze thru this. Look how far you have come so far. Good Luck.
today i visited a dear one in the hospital.
i was there on monday and he was having such a rough time, i wasn't able to go into his room.
today, i arrived and peeked into his room, he saw me and waved me in.

this is the time of year for the "awards" shows.
we have witnessed seen the people's choice awards, the golden globe awards, and the academy award nominations were announced today.
i think it is time for the jwd awards.. every nominee is a winner.

as mentioned in my other thread, my daughter lena is having brainsurgery on monday, jan 24. the surgery will last 6-7 hours, so i'm hoping the board members will be willing to make a special effort tomorrow to send positive thoughts, healing energy, good wishes and prayers her way.
we are asking that the surgeon's hands be delicate and skillful and that lena does not bleed overmuch and that brain damage be minimal (if not non-existant).
surgery begins at 8 am eastern standard time (us), but we have to have her to the hospital by 6 am, so this is "good night!
Thats great news Brenda. The hardest part is over and you both came thru it with flying colors. I'll send some healing your way at Ians vigil.

my wife (now ex-wife) and i were not getting along very well five years ago.

Seems to me the ex would not say something like that if she wasn't pretty sure she knew what she was talking about. What a sticky situation. Personally I think I would get a DNA test for your own peace of mind. What if she is yours and you spend forever with the doubt. If she isn't yours and she is Daddy's little girl then that is all that matters until one day when she may need to know differently or find out accidently.
I didn't find my dad till I was 43 years old. I always felt incomplete. Your little girl won't feel most of that if she has you for a dad. If she ever finds out the truth she may still need to find out who she really is but she will always have your love.
Would your ex ever get mad at the baby in years to come and throw that out at her in anger like she did to you? The child is innocent.
